Simple Scrapbooking Storage Solutions For You

Scrapbooking Storage

When you first start out scrapbooking you may not feel a need to have a designated space to scrapbook. Many people just use a dining room table. I too started like this but I was living at home with mum so I used my bedroom floor. I didn’t have any sort of scrapbooking storage system. But as I started to do more and more scrapbooking and bought more and more scrapbooking supplies I decided I needed to get organized and have a special scrapbooking area. So i went out looking for some simple scrapbooking storage solutions.

First thing I needed to get was a desk. I started off with a small computer desk but soon came to the realization that this was not big enough and went out and bought a desk that was about 160 cm x 90 cm. It has draws both side which is great for storing some bits and pieces in.

Next I needed to buy something to store all my cardstock and paper in. So I bought something similar to a portfolio. I use this to hold all my 330cm x 30cm paper and card stock. Then I thought what would I do with all my scrap bits of paper. It seemed like a waste to just through them out. So I decided to keep them but then I needed to work out how I was going to store the scraps. I decided the best way to store them was in a box. I have a few different sized boxes and put bigger bits of scrap paper into one and the smaller bits into another. When you get enough scrap you might want to also think about sorting it in some sort of colour system.

Then I decided that a bookcase would be a good place to store a lot of the little bits and pieces so I went out and got one. I have a shelf for paints, paint brushes, glues and other mediums. On the other shelves I have heaps of different boxes with things like stickers, stamps, ink pads, punches, glitter, embossing powder and heaps of other stuff in them.

Another handy thing to get is an embellishment storage system of some sort. A Embellishment Organizer is a fantastic way to store a heap of different embellishments and at a quick glance you can find what you are looking for. No need to spend hours searching draws and boxes of stuff for that little thing you are looking for.

Another handy scrapbooking storage item is a desktop caddy/carousel. These are great for storing thing that you will be using a lot. Things like scissors, rulers, gel pens, double sided tape, pencils, hammer, embossing tools etc.

I think that is pretty much what I use to store my scrapbooking tools and supplies. My scrapbooking storage system is fairly basic but its simple and affordable.

If you do scrapbooking outside of your own home, i.e. go to scrapper’s evenings or scrapbooking classes then I would suggest that you get a scrapbooking rolling tote. These are a transportable bag on wheels in which you can put all the supplies and tool you will need, in an organized fashion. So instead of lugging a whole heap of bits and pieces out the door as you go to your scrapbooking evening you just take one bag with everything neatly packed inside.

Happy Scrapbooking!
