iPad Vs Wepad Tablet Computers – Which is Better?

 - by Ryan Cullen

If you’re a fan of Apple’s products then you’ll know all about the new portable iPad touch screen device that was released at the beginning of this year. Once again they have come out with a great new product that has set the standard for other companies to follow and now several months on a number of top electronics companies have developed their own versions to be released this year. One of these contenders for top spot on the tablet computer market is Neophonie, a German telecommunications company who have come up with their “Wepad” computer.

Both the Apple iPad and the Neophonie Wepad look similar on first look, though the Wepad has 2 USB ports and a 3.1 megapixel camera, which is something that is not included on the iPad. This hasn’t dissuaded Apple fans from purchasing one of these innovative little items, because they are more concerned with what lies underneath the plastic and high resolution touch screen. Apples iPad runs on their own specially developed A2 processor that has a lightening fast response time and allows users to browse, write emails and watch a movie all at the same time. It also uses a similar operating system to the iPhone which has an intuitive navigation system and a great range of applications.

Comparing the Wepad with the iPad is like looking at the difference between apple computers and Microsoft PC systems. The Wepad runs on a decent 1.6 GHz processor and uses the well known Google open source Android platform that has a limited amount of applications now, but because it allows developers to download and tinker with its system for free in the future Android applications will no doubt over take Apples large library of pay for software. So which do you choose? If like many you love Apples intuitive easy to use system that is fast and very reliable, then you should go for the iPad. Though on the other hand if you want a platform that will offer more freedom and flexibility in terms of add-ons and upgrades then the more open source community friendly Wepad will provide you with more options.
